Learning about the world wasn't enough. I needed to
see it with my own eyes, touch it with my own hands and welcome it into my own heart.

Who I Am

My name is Charlotte Grey Swope and I am not content to watch from a distance. When I hear something going on in the world - be it a conflict, need, or opportunity - I want to experience it for myself and contribute in any way I can. This mindset has taken me to visit remote communities in Fiji, construction sites in the US and dinner tables in places far from home, listening more than I speak.

Having lived in many places and studied in different types of schools, I've learned to adapt to nearly any situation. Across every environment and situation, my desire to understand the world by immersing myself in it has remained constant. I believe lasting change and real growth requires us to show up, ask questions and do the hard work of experiencing something completely foreign that challenges us deeply.

I have found great fulfillment in making contributions to communities beyond my own in tangible ways. I love building, painting, cooking, serving. In a world that talks a lot and if full of opinions, I want to be a person who walks the walk and comes together with others to effect change.

The instinct to step in, to adapt, to act, has shaped me into a person who does not hesitate In unfamiliar situations, who looks for common ground, and who leads by example. This has made me confident, compassionate, and determined to turn curiosity into purpose. It's not just what I do, it's who I've become. I created this website to share more about my journey, so please use the menu above to explore my service, travel, resume and memories.
